The dining room part of the big family room is finished, there hasn’t really been that much of a transformation, but we have done a few bits worth mentioning.
The Before…
The before of the dining room was too dark for us and the colour actually gave you a bit of a headache, we opened up the space by knocking a wall down to create an open plan room including the kitchen, snug, dining room and a playroom. We also added another doorway in the dining room that leads into where we have built a downstairs toilet and utility which, with the help of a re-paint, does make the space seem bigger.
The Progress…
Aesthetically we have obviously repainted, changed the flooring and skirting boards, installed a new radiator and repainted the windowsill from a dark wood (hack to the light wood look of the windowsill here).
I do like a rug under a dining table ideally, but having a toddler means it will be ruined within a week, so for now the rug can wait!
